CITY OF WASHINGTON
WASHINGTON, ILLINOIS
PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 1, 2007 - 6:30 P.M.
The regular meeting of Wednesday, August 1 of the City of Washington Planning Commission was called to order at 6:30 p.m. in the Training Room at Fire Station No.1, by Chairman Mel Joos.
Present and answering Roll Call were Commissioners Mike Brown, Bill Bradle, Jeff Borders, Jeff Fuerst, Gary Moehle and Mel Joos. Commissioners absent included Bill Hartter, Doug Wilson and Arnie Wiltz.
Also present was P&D Director Jon Oliphant and City Clerk/Planning Commission Secretary Carol Moss.
Approval of the minutes of the July 5, 2007 Planning Commission meeting was deferred until the next regular meeting due to the minutes not being included in the Commission packets.
Preliminary Plat - Trails Edge Northwest -
P&D Director Oliphant explained that the subject property is approximately
4.32 acres and is located at the northwest corner of the Trails Edge property,
and is currently zoned R-1. This is a re-subdivision of a portion of Trails Edge
Section Five. The plat is being presented to the Planning Commission because of
reconfiguration of a number of the lots which cannot be handled with a Plat of
Survey. Lots 213-217 and 228-233 from Section Five are being re-subdivided. All
were originally platted as duplexes but will be converted to single family lots.
This will create four new lots for a total of fifteen, but density will decrease
from twenty-two units to fifteen. Commissioner Brown moved and Commissioner
Bradle seconded to approve the Preliminary Plat of Trails Edge Northwest as
presented. Commissioner Moehle said that this is in keeping with the rest of the
neighborhood and Commissioner Borders asked if the feeder streets will be paved
yet this year. P&D Director Oliphant replied he does not know what time line
is for the development.
On roll call the vote was:
Ayes: 6 Borders, Moehle, Fuerst, Bradle, Brown, Joos
Nays: 0
Motion declared carried.
There was no additional business and at 6:41 p.m. Commissioner Fuerst moved and Commissioner Brown seconded to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
